Ethical Guidelines

Octany creates technology for an inclusive and free society

If you do not share our values, we kindly ask you to seek another provider.

The values that guide us

Freedom of Expression

We defend the right to express opinions without censorship or reprisals. An open exchange of ideas is essential for democracy, while freedom of expression also entails the responsibility not to spread hate or violate the dignity of others.

Freedom of Religion

We support the right to practice one’s religion or to abstain from religious belief. We value religious diversity and expect religious practices to respect fundamental human rights and not be used as a basis for discrimination.

Freedom of the Press

We uphold a free and independent press as a cornerstone of democracy. Journalists must be able to report without political or economic interference and critically examine those in power without fear of reprisal.

Equality of All People Regardless of Nationality

We believe in the equal worth of all people, regardless of nationality or ethnic origin. We oppose xenophobia and racism. We value cultural diversity and advocate for a humane migration and integration policy.

Gender Equality

We believe in equal rights and opportunities for all people, regardless of gender.

LGBTQI+

We recognize and respect everyone's right to be themselves regardless of sexual orientation. We oppose discrimination and actively support the LGBTQI+ movement to promote acceptance and inclusion in society.

Gender Identity and Expression

We respect every individual’s right to define their own gender identity. We acknowledge that gender is more complex than a binary division and work to ensure all environments are safe and inclusive.

Our Collaboration Criteria

 We collaborate with:

  • Non-profit organizations and associations
  • Companies
  • Parliamentary parties
  • Religious communities that receive state funding from the Swedish Agency for Support to Faith Communities (SST), or that can demonstrate cooperation with the Church of Sweden, the Muslim Council of Sweden, the Jewish Central Council, the Swedish Buddhist Cooperation Council, or the Swedish Hindu Federation

All organisations we collaborate with need to share our values and ethical guidelines. We reserve the right to decline collaboration or terminate agreements without further comment if an organisation does not share these values. Furthermore, as a Swedish company, we also retain the freedom to enter into contracts at our discretion.

"I check Octany as often as Wildhood's bank account. Through the campaigns we run, we're getting more donors and growing steadily. That's probably what makes Octany so fun to use - you can see through the activity feed how we're growing!"
